Jesus Christ was history’s greatest Teacher, Leader, and Healer. While called the Messiah, he was also admitted by followers and detractors alike to be a Magician. Much of the Magick which Jesus wielded involved healings of all kinds of supplicants and all manner of ills. Briefly, let us remark on the Trinity of forces which underlay those works and “miraculous” results. First, there was the virtue or vital force which Jesus directed with perfect knowledge and results. Sometimes, his power went forth even without his apparent direction. The woman with an issue of blood, who reached out to the Master, drew power from him and was instantly healed. “Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.” Luke 8:46 Next, the power was impelled or magnetized by faith to set the process in motion. Jesus blessed the blind man saying, “Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.” Luke 18:42 Thirdly, as we fall short of truth and goodness, forgiveness was necessary to fulfill all righteousness. Thus is shown forth the unending grace of God. “Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men… they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven you…. I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.’” Mark 2:3 We must not forget an even more fundamental aspect to life and thus to healing. Even Jesus the Christ admitted, “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will …” John 5:30 We are meant to do the greater works ordained millennia ago. We may begin to follow in the footsteps of Jesus to match and exceed the miracles of ancient times by learning the simple but profound means to Healing Magick. |
